IRONMAN Tallinn.
Race Tallinn on your terms.

Tallinn gives full-distance racing an urban edge: water close to the city, broad Harju County roads and a marathon back among the streets. It can look quick on paper. The first discipline is knowing which swim venue and which festival day belong to your race.

Tallinn, the Old Town and St. Olaf's Church.

Your age and race category help me estimate where that performance could place you. They don’t determine how fast I think you can race.

Change units

A full-distance plan deserves the right start line.

The August 2027 festival brings racing to Tallinn, with a generally fast bike and run setting. The full-distance swim venue and precise race day are still not settled in the available course details. Train for a steady 180 km bike and marathon without pretending an old half-distance map supplies the answer.

Tallinn full-distance swim, official water venue pending

Set a long-course stroke independent of old venue names

The 2027 full-distance swim venue is not yet settled. Wherever you start, establish breathing and a steady stroke before worrying about an early split.

Settle by 400 m. Sight smoothly.

Tallinn full swim exit, transition unconfirmed

Leave the water prepared for 180 km

The fast opening loop makes overpacing easy. Hold the ceiling you can repeat.

Cap power. Fuel from the first hour.

Harju County, first full-bike section

Set a conservative effort before the open roads

Stay patient on exposed sections and arrive at T2 ready to run.

Drop power in gusts. Finish nutrition before T2.

Harju County, full bike return

Keep fuelling even if riding looks quick

A flat course feels fast after T2. Make the first loop deliberately easy.

Shorten stride. Take aid early.

Tallinn full marathon, new route pending

Begin the run below your ambition

Use each loop to check effort, fuelling and wind exposure rather than chasing a single pace number.

Reassess each loop. Save a finish move.

What to check in race week

Confirm the full-distance race day within 7–8 August 2027 and get the actual swim start, full bike roads, marathon and transitions. The 70.3 is a separate event. Check access around Unibet Arena, water rules, aid and cutoffs before treating any prior map as the new full course.

Build the legs.
Practise the decisions.

A finish range gives you something to work towards. The preparation is specific to this race: an economical full swim and a long steady Harju County ride provide enough reserve to begin a city marathon patiently.

I’m Tom. With Sense Endurance Coaching, I’ll build that preparation around your life, follow how you respond and adjust the work as you get closer to Tallinn.
