T100 Vancouver.
Race Vancouver on your terms.

Vancouver's previous T100 course asked for a rare skill: a beach exit halfway through a two-kilometre swim. It then climbed towards UBC and finished with packed-gravel running near Jericho Beach. That makes for a distinctive race, but not a verified 2027 course.

What could you race?

I’m Tom, the coach behind Sense Endurance Coaching. Tell me where you are now and I’ll show you what a strong day in Vancouver could look like.

Your age and race category help me estimate where that performance could place you. They don’t determine how fast I think you can race.

An Aussie exit is memorable. The edition still matters.

The 2026 T100 used two one-kilometre ocean laps at Locarno Beach with a run across the sand between, then four 20 km bike circuits near UBC's Marine Drive and three 6 km runs beside Jericho Beach. The 2027 date and course have not yet been confirmed.

Locarno Beach, 2026 first sea loop

Keep the opening 1 km economical

Water in the mid-to-high teens Celsius is a real physiological adjustment. Use the first lap to settle your breathing before racing.

Controlled breathing in cold water. Sight toward the Aussie exit.

Locarno sand exit, 2026 swim changeover

Reset breathing before the second sea entry

The Aussie exit is a natural reset. Use it to check effort before starting the second lap.

Reset at the exit. Hold, don't chase, on lap two.

UBC Marine Drive, first cycling circuits

Limit power on the rise towards campus

Ride the Marine Drive climb at an effort you can repeat three more times. A flat-road power target will not tell you when to ease off.

Climb on perceived effort. Cap opening watts on the flats.

UBC circuit, middle bike stage

Keep fuelling through repeated turns

The middle laps are where a climb ridden too hard on lap one starts to show. Match lap one's effort on the climb each time.

Match lap one's climb effort. Fuel on the same schedule each lap.

UBC Marine Drive, later bike circuits

Leave something for 18 km on foot

The final lap repeats the same named climb on tired legs. Finish it at the same effort as lap one.

Stay patient on the last climb. Finish nutrition before T2.

Jericho Beach Park, first 6 km run

Adapt to paths and packed gravel without rushing

Jericho Beach Park and the seawall give a scenic but honest opening lap. Run it a shade easier than goal pace.

Hold opening pace. Take aid at the lap point.

Jericho seawall, middle run lap

Keep rhythm despite the spectators

Passing the Jericho Sailing Centre lap-decision point a second time is an honest read on the bike's four climbs.

Compare lap two to lap one. Adjust deliberately.

Jericho Sailing Centre, final lap

Use the last part only if the previous laps held

The final lap along the seawall and back through Jericho Beach Park is where a disciplined bike gets to pay out.

Run the last lap on effort. Finish through the line.

What to check in race week

Vancouver's known T100 race took place on 16 August 2026. The listed 15 August 2027 date and the Locarno Beach, UBC and Jericho course details still need confirmation for another edition. This is a 2 km swim, 80 km bike and 18 km run, not a 70.3.

Build the legs.
Practise the decisions.

A finish range gives you something to work towards. The preparation is specific to this race: sea re-entry, measured UBC climbing and three balanced park run circuits are training capabilities rather than assumptions about an unannounced 2027 route.

I’m Tom. With Sense Endurance Coaching, I’ll build that preparation around your life, follow how you respond and adjust the work as you get closer to Vancouver.
