IRONMAN 70.3 Muscat.
Your best day in Muscat.

Muscat's 70.3 returns as a Middle East championship in February 2027. An established race can still have a new course. The sea off Al Qurum and the city roads are useful prior context, not permission to reuse the old race briefing.

What could you race?

I’m Tom, the coach behind Sense Endurance Coaching. Tell me where you are now and I’ll show you what a strong day in Muscat could look like.

Let’s build your race

Let’s build your race.

Your age and race category help me estimate where that performance could place you. They don’t determine how fast I think you can race.

Change units

A championship is no reason to race the opening hour too hard.

Muscat's earlier half started in the sea off Al Qurum and took the race through the city. A championship label doesn't change the need to settle into the swim and protect the run from too much early bike effort. The detailed February 2027 course still needs confirmation.

Al Qurum Beach, 2026 swim venue

Settle into open sea without burning effort

The calm sea swim rewards an honest, controlled opening.

Seed honestly. Settle into rhythm.

Muscat city bike, first stage pending

Take a sustainable number onto the road

The landmark-lined route tempts chasing the scenery. Hold one steady effort instead.

Cap opening effort. Fuel early.

Muscat city bike, middle stage pending

Allow speed to change with wind and gradients

Finish planned nutrition and hold effort before the three-loop park run.

Stay patient. Finish planned nutrition.

Muscat bike return, final turns pending

Finish fuelling instead of chasing a split

Let the first loop through Qurum Park feel easy, not fast.

Easy first aid station. Check posture.

Muscat run, first kilometres pending

Begin conservatively in the actual conditions

Repeat the first loop's effort rather than letting it drift.

Stay tall. Keep fuelling.

Muscat run, closing kilometres pending

Choose an increase once running form is secure

Only progress on the final loop once the first two have held together.

Choose the last move late.

What to check in race week

Confirm the February 2027 start beach, cycling roads, hills, city run and transitions. Al Qurum belongs to the previous race description, so don't assume it is this year's swim entry. Check equipment rules, aid and cutoffs with the final event information.

Make your finish prediction and I can send this plan to you in race week.

Build the legs.
Practise the decisions.

A finish range gives you something to work towards. The preparation is specific to this race: a measured sea swim and city-road power ceiling set up a patient half marathon, without pressure to overrace a championship label.

I’m Tom. With Sense Endurance Coaching, I’ll build that preparation around your life, follow how you respond and adjust the work as you get closer to Muscat.
