IRONMAN 70.3 Langkawi.
Race Langkawi on your terms.

Langkawi offers island roads, a coastal finish and tropical conditions that can change what an ordinary bike effort feels like. The first challenge is simpler: know which beach your race actually starts from.

Langkawi, the coastline and local boats.

What could you race?

I’m Tom, the coach behind Sense Endurance Coaching. Tell me where you are now and I’ll show you what a strong day in Langkawi could look like.

Let’s build your race

Let’s build your race.

Your age and race category help me estimate where that performance could place you. They don’t determine how fast I think you can race.

Change units

Get the right start. Then settle into the island.

Langkawi's earlier half courses used island villages and forest roads before finishing near Cenang Beach. The 2026 swim venue is still disputed between Pantai Kok and a possible move near Pulau Tepor Bay. Train for the terrain and heat, but don't make travel or split plans around an unconfirmed start.

Find the right beach before finding your pace

The rolling start gives you room to settle into rhythm before committing to pace.

Seed honestly. Settle into rhythm.

Langkawi island cycling roads, earlier stage

Keep your power below the early excitement

The rolling hills of Datai invite surging on every rise. Hold one steady power number instead.

Cap opening effort. Fuel early.

Langkawi island cycling roads, later stage

Bring the ride back with a run available

Finish planned nutrition through the remaining rolling terrain before the flat oceanfront run.

Stay patient. Finish planned nutrition.

Langkawi half marathon, opening stage

Start within the day's heat and your legs

Let the oceanfront opening past Cenang Beach feel easy, not fast.

Easy first aid station. Check posture.

Towards Cenang Beach, published finish

Only lift the effort once it is sustainable

Only progress once the first half has held together.

Stay tall. Choose the last move late.

What to check in race week

Confirm the actual 2026 swim entry and transition before arranging transport; Pantai Kok and Pulau Tepor Bay both appear in recent descriptions. Then check the current bike course, Datai-region climbing, run turns, aid and any separate logistics for the full-distance Malaysia event. Let the day's heat and sea forecast guide the final pacing.

Make your finish prediction and I can send this plan to you in race week.

Build the legs.
Practise the decisions.

A finish range gives you something to work towards. The preparation is specific to this race: calm open-water execution, durable island-road power and a controlled first half of the run feel rehearsed, while travel and transitions are planned from the actual current guide.

I’m Tom. With Sense Endurance Coaching, I’ll build that preparation around your life, follow how you respond and adjust the work as you get closer to Langkawi.
