IRONMAN 70.3 Buenos Aires Palermo.
Your best day in Palermo.

The wide roads of Buenos Aires can make a 90 km ride feel quicker than your legs have earned. Start at Palermo's Lago de Regatas, then remember there is still a half marathon to run through Bosques de Palermo.

What could you race?

I’m Tom, the coach behind Sense Endurance Coaching. Tell me where you are now and I’ll show you what a strong day in Palermo could look like.

Let’s build your race

Let’s build your race.

Your age and race category help me estimate where that performance could place you. They don’t determine how fast I think you can race.

Change units

The highway is a temptation, not an instruction.

The October 2026 course put the swim in Palermo's Lago de Regatas, the ride on wide city roads and the run through Bosques de Palermo. A road without many natural brakes is a place to practise your own. Keep a little energy for the park paths, even when the bike split looks inviting.

Lago de Regatas, Palermo

Keep the first lake metres relaxed

The calm lake swim rewards an honest, controlled opening.

Seed honestly. Settle into rhythm.

Buenos Aires highways, early bike

Set a ceiling before the road opens up

With no hills to force pacing discipline, it's easy to override on this flat highway loop. Hold your number regardless of how easy it feels.

Cap opening effort. Fuel early.

Buenos Aires avenues, later bike

Resist defending a faster-than-planned split

Repeat the first loop's effort and finish planned nutrition before the city run.

Stay patient. Finish planned nutrition.

Bosques de Palermo, opening run

Let park rhythm arrive naturally

Let the Palermo streets feel easy, not fast.

Easy first aid station. Check posture.

Bosques de Palermo, closing run

Use the final park kilometres to finish well

Only progress once the first half has held together.

Stay tall. Choose the last move late.

What to check in race week

The October 2026 race has already taken place. For any later edition, confirm a new date and fresh Palermo swim, road closure and Bosques de Palermo run maps before making travel or pacing plans. Find the actual aid and transition locations rather than borrowing city traffic notices from the past race.

Build the legs.
Practise the decisions.

A finish range gives you something to work towards. The preparation is specific to this race: an economical city-lake swim and controlled road speed feed a half marathon that can be run with purpose rather than survived.

I’m Tom. With Sense Endurance Coaching, I’ll build that preparation around your life, follow how you respond and adjust the work as you get closer to Palermo.
