IRONMAN 70.3 Punta del Este.
Race Punta del Este on your terms.

Playa Mansa, the road towards Punta Ballena and a run along the Rambla make Punta del Este a coastline worth racing. The view can distract you from what a strong half marathon actually costs. Save your best move for the run.

What could you race?

I’m Tom, the coach behind Sense Endurance Coaching. Tell me where you are now and I’ll show you what a strong day in Punta del Este could look like.

Let’s build your race

Let’s build your race.

Your age and race category help me estimate where that performance could place you. They don’t determine how fast I think you can race.

Change units

A coastal race with more to offer than a fast bike.

The previous course began at Playa Mansa, rolled towards Punta Ballena and returned for a waterfront run. Those landmarks make a compelling race preview, but the exact 2027 day and course haven't been confirmed together. Plan your effort while the final route catches up.

Playa Mansa, previous swim area

Find an open-water rhythm before worrying about time

The coastal out-and-back rewards an honest, controlled opening.

Seed honestly. Settle into rhythm.

Punta Ballena, earlier bike terrain

Set a firm ceiling for any climbing

The exposed coastal route toward Punta Ballena Hill tempts chasing the scenery. Hold a steady effort against whatever wind is blowing.

Cap opening effort. Fuel early.

Punta del Este coast, bike return

Allow the wind to alter speed without chasing it

Repeat the first loop's effort and finish planned nutrition before the coastal city run.

Stay patient. Finish planned nutrition.

Rambla, opening run setting

Keep the first waterfront kilometres comfortable

Let the first coastal city loop feel easy, not fast.

Easy first aid station. Check posture.

Calle 30 area, previous finish

Choose a late move only if the pace is holding

Only progress once the first loop has held together.

Stay tall. Choose the last move late.

What to check in race week

Confirm whether the March 2027 race is on the 7th or 8th; current schedules disagree by a day. Then check the final Playa Mansa start, Punta Ballena bike roads, Rambla run turns, transitions and aid. The detailed route description belongs to 2026.

Make your finish prediction and I can send this plan to you in race week.

Build the legs.
Practise the decisions.

A finish range gives you something to work towards. The preparation is specific to this race: swim, climbing-effort discipline and waterfront run pacing remain calm and consistent despite a course whose next edition is not yet fully documented.

I’m Tom. With Sense Endurance Coaching, I’ll build that preparation around your life, follow how you respond and adjust the work as you get closer to Punta del Este.
