Jackson St Pier · Sandusky Bay
Seed where you can swim, not where you hope to swim.
Start with athletes swimming your pace and use the opening to settle into rhythm rather than fight for position.
Seed honestly. Settle into rhythm.
Your day in Cedar Point
I’m Tom, the coach behind Sense Endurance Coaching. Tell me where you are now and I’ll show you what a strong day in Cedar Point could look like.
The course behind your race
There is almost no terrain to tell you when to ease off. The better race is the one where the bike feels repeatable all the way back to Sandusky and the second run loop still belongs to you.

Erie and Sandusky Counties · outbound
With only gentle gain to contend with, it's easy to override on this flat farmland course. Hold your number regardless of how easy it feels.
Cap opening effort. Fuel early.
Rural Ohio · return to Sandusky
Finish planned nutrition and hold effort through the remaining flat miles before the two-loop run.
Stay patient. Finish planned nutrition.
Downtown Sandusky · first loop
Let the downtown opening feel easy, not fast.
Easy first aid station. Check posture.
Downtown Sandusky · second loop
Only progress once the first loop has held together.
Stay tall. Choose the last move late.
Confirm the final Sandusky swim start and water conditions, then look at wind across the open farmland and the latest downtown run map. Set the bike ceiling before race morning so easy speed never becomes an excuse to raise it.

Prepare for Cedar Point
A finish range gives you something to work towards. The preparation is specific to this race: Train long, uninterrupted flat riding at a disciplined effort, practise fuelling without climbs as reminders and rehearse running well when the bike split felt deceptively easy. Ohio rewards athletes who can manufacture restraint.
I’m Tom. With Sense Endurance Coaching, I’ll build that preparation around your life, follow how you respond and adjust the work as you get closer to Cedar Point.
